Olya Nikol

I am a passionate advocate for children’s and women’s rights with over 10 years of experience in the legal and not-for-profit sectors in Australia and Asia. Having recently completed my Master’s in Human Rights and Democratisation, I have developed a strong interest in advancing my career in Business and Human Rights.  My particular interest is the intersection between gender-based violence and business. This is the topic of my research thesis on advancing the gender equality agenda in Bulgaria through the Business and Human rights framework. Utilizing my project management, analytical and people skills, as well as my sector-specific knowledge and experience, I aim to inspire and drive positive change through leading initiatives and supporting senior stakeholders in strategic and operational decisions. My strength is the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and to inspire change. With respect and assertiveness, I approach every challenging or confronting situation by focusing on efficiency and solution. I turn challenges into opportunities through commitment and action.  I am grateful that my career aspiration is for a cause bigger than me, and this inspires me to keep working and finding ways to contribute to a more sustainable change.
