There is an increasing pressure on NGOs to diversify the sources of their funding and to take into account cooperation with the business sector. At the same time, it is expected of NGOs to remain independent, transparent and to operate in such a way that is consistent with their vision, mission (or purpose) and values.

The report “Transparency, codes of ethics and relationship between NGOs and business” written by Sævar Finnbogason based on discussions during the two workshops regarding the Icelandic experience in shaping relations between NGOs and businesses, as well as inputs from participants from Poland and Ukraine, is an attempt to draw some preliminary conclusions as to the state of these issues in Iceland, as well as considering some more general lessons which may be drawn from the discussions. The report is now available in Polish, English & Russian.
